What’s in a name? Choosing a name for a company is not an easy task and we wanted something that was memorable and reasonably unique and, originally, with an association to the region. Many days and hundreds of names and word combinations later we drew a blank. We found the name was either already registered, domain name unavailable, too long, too mundane or just did not sound good in Mandarin! We came across Telesto when we realised many companies have in the recent past reverted to Greek mythology for inspiration. Telesto is one of the Okeandes and is the personification of SUCCESS. Her parents where Okeanos and Tethys. It is also the name of the 8th moon of Saturn, hence the inspiration for the logo. Eight is, of course, an auspicious number in Chinese culture as well. In summary Telesto means SUCCESS and GOOD LUCK! |
